Elon admits to link throttling on X. In response to Paul Graham's complaint about X deprioritizing links, Elon suggested a workaround, inadvertently confirming that posting links on X is a surefire way to kill your engagement.

    The consequence is that people still post links, but just more deceptively. Which PG points out in the replies:

    If I write a new essay and tweet a link to it, that's "lazy linking," but if I tweet that I've written a new essay and then put the link in a reply, that's somehow better?

    The actual reason for the throttling is that X takes a revenue hit when users click away from the platform.
