Popular web host Hetzner significantly lowers bandwidth for US-based VPSs. Several people on Hacker News and X-formerly-known-as-Twitter complained that Hetzner raised the rates of their US-based VPSs while simultaneously reducing bandwidth (traffic) limits from 20TB to as low as 2TB.

The most likely reason for this is that Hetzner's "loss leaders" are causing too large a loss.
